In 1993, Connie felt that the travel industry was changing. And she wanted more time to spend with her vacation-bound clients and family rather than being bogged down with paperwork and airline ticketing. That's when she decided to move her store-front agency to her home, take on home-based agents with a desire to provide genuine service and with a concern for the quality of the vacations of their clients, and to concentrate on vacations rather than selling airline tickets. What Connie did in 1993 is now much more common. In fact, she has been quoted in various travel industry trade magazines such as 'Travel Agent', 'Travel Life' and 'ASTA Management' regarding home-based travel agencies.

With a personal interest in deaf culture and ASL, and a developing interest in limited mobility issues, Connie George Travel Associates seemed to naturally begin working with clients who had special needs back in the beginning. Now we work with clients nationwide in both more "typical" vacations as well as the details of vacations for people who have disabilities. In fact, we are now one of the biggest "disabled travel" specialists in the US!

    Connie

    connie@cgta.com
Connie began working in the travel industry in 1978 and earned her Certified Travel Counselor degree five years later. She developed extensive experience in vacation and corporate travel arranging as well as management prior to opening a store-front travel agency in 1986 and then her home-based agency.

Connie's particular specialties are arranging vacations for groups and for people who are deaf, wheelchair users and slow walkers. Connie has been quoted in magazines such as 'Travel Weekly' on disabled travel, has written articles on the subject and has been a speaker at ASTA and American Airlines conferences for travel agents who wanted to learn more about how to better work with disabled travelers.
    Cynthia Jackson-Elmoore

    jandetravel@cgta.com
Cynthia is an enthusiast for cruise and island based wedding, honeymoon and anniversary packages. Her joy for and knowledge of these special events comes from personal experience. Cynthia and her husband met on a cruise; they were later married on a cruise ship before sailing off on a Caribbean honeymoon and then celebrated their first anniversary on the very same ship on which they had met! Cynthia has been training to work with our wheelchair users and slow-walkers because she feels excitement, great memories, romance and a joy for travel are all important aspects of the vacation plans that she feels all people should experience.
    Vicki Thorp

    Vicki
    accessibletvl@hotmail.com
Vicki specializes in arranging travel for people with mobility issues and loves to sell (and go on!) cruises and land vacations. She's traveled extensively in the U.S. (including Hawaii), Canada, Caribbean, Mexico, South Pacific, and much of Europe." When she's not booking vacations, she's involved with animals in her home state of Colorado. Vicki loves to help train assistance dogs. In fact, a portion of her profits go to both Canine Support Teams and Canine Companions for Independence. She loves working with groups as well as those seeking a tour to more exotic destinations, including land tours for the disabled to places like South Africa, Patagonia, Peru and the Alaskan interior.
    Tracy Cross

    Tracy

    tracy@cgta.com
Tracy lives in Texas with his wife, Martha, and son. Married in 1998, they honeymooned on the Disney Magic! Being disabled himself and an experienced ocean traveler, Tracy focuses on special needs cruising. He knows that cruising is tailor-made for physically challenged individuals to explore the world. A passenger with disabilities can avoid many of the problems and anxieties connected to other types of travel. Let Tracy show you how your next vacation can not only be barrier-free but worry-free as well!
    Craig Peck
Craig has been with Connie George Travel Associates for since 1996. Having been on 'somewhere around eight or nine cruises' as well as having traveled extensively around southwest US and England, Craig was very familiar with the services of a travel agent. He felt he could bring to the job everything positive he'd experienced as well as enhance some areas in which some seemed to be lacking. Being a wheelchair user, Craig is very cognizant that no detail that's important to a client is too small for us to handle.
    Vera Bryant
Vera lives with her husband in Brooklyn with her children and grandchildren close by. Vera uses her personal past group leader experience to to assist her cruise group leaders in planning special trips of their own!
