Champion Gymnast Simone Biles Named Godmother of Celebrity Beyond

Nineteen-time World Champion, seven-time Olympic Medalist, author, and Dancing with the Stars contestant Simone Biles is adding one more accomplishment to her resume. She will be Godmother to Celebrity Cruises’ newest ship, Celebrity Beyond.

in history as well as the Godmother for Celebrity Beyond.
Celebrity Cruises’ Edge-class ships have broken ground with new categories of suites and exciting additions such as Infinite Verandahs, Rooftop Garden, the Magic Carpet, and The Club. The position of Godmother to ships is steeped in history, tradition, and rituals.
While Celebrity Beyond began sailing in Europe earlier in the year, her christening was on November 4th in Fort Lauderdale. Simone officially named the ship, which included blessing it and setting in motion the christening by breaking a bottle of champagne on the ship’s bow. You can catch the highlights here.
